"...well before Clinton left office." Hmmm. It started showing signs of weekness in late '99, early 2000, not what I would call well before. Economic gains over Clinton's eight years were astronomical, in terms of the stock market and job gains. To compare the Bush economic performance with the '90s is just laughable by any measure.
