In the book that the kids have, they post the question of what color are dinosaurs. They even give examples of how different ones would look. Emmy laughed at the T-rex that was pink with blue poka-dots, "thats not scary Daddy!" Max saw one with green and yellow stripes and declared that it must be a John Deere dinosaur.
Given the full range of colors we see in the avain and amphibian worlds, it is really anybodies guess. I wonder if by chance a piece of the chromozone could yield some insight?
