Yes, the links to Noah's postings helped immensely. He explained much of the process needed to ensure correct ring and pinion adjustment. However, I would like to complete my project and a trip to a transmission specialist will only delay things further. This time around I may just reassemble the transaxle with the original ring and pinion along with new synchro components. Next time it is apart I can tackle the limited slip upgrade and that will give me time to approach it better. Thanks for helping.
