I picked up a 911 from the radio shop today. I hate driving customer cars. It just seems that the only time something goes wrong is in somebody else's car.
I was preparing to turn right onto a busy street. Just as I let out the clutch the danm thing popped out of gear by the time I got the clutch back in and back into gear. Thud!! from the rear. I got what felt like a good solid push so was expecting the worst. Pulled over right away and the driver of the other vehicle ( a freafin SUV by Toyota) pulled right up and asked immediately if I was OK. I've got to admit that I was a bit relieved to see the other driver was a middle age male, dressed very well and wasn't on a cell phone. He seemed very concerned about my condition and then the car, which upon close inspection was not harmed. I can see from the displaced dirt that the rear bumper shock has collapsed but nothing else. Ironically enough the incident left his front bumper cover with a pretty good scar in it the shape of the 911's bumper guard.
We exchanged info just as a matter of formality and went on our way.So I guess I got lucky today!
