I have never been in a 914 with a 2.4 so I can't compare it.
With the 2.7 I could barely beat a stock 911SC 0-? on the street.
Otto only tuned the motor up and rebuilt the carbs.
Two years later the 2.7 started pulling head studs like most stock 2.7's do.
I chose to dump the motor and put in a Euro 3.2 motor with DME.
The 3.2 has allot more torque and power but does not rev as free as the 2.7.
That being said the 3.2 is a much better daily driver street engine.
The fuel injection and the extra torque and power is priceless.
Its now faster than most stock normally aspirated 911's including the 996.
Its hilarious to see the look on there face when they get beat by a 914.
I especially love the look on there girl friends face.

What about lightening the flywheel. That should help a lot with throttle response.
