Of course, one of the guys had to mention that I was a lubrication expert. For the next several minutes I had to endure the obvious and sundrie jokes about my level of expertise and how it would relate to our present situation!
I was a multi-level mineshaft elevator. It felt like it was supported with a bungee cord. Basically, we were the first in line. We get on, along with maybe 5 others, and they close the gate. Then we go up about eight feet, and are in total darkness. The thing is just bouncing around. This happens about four or five times. I can't remember how many levels the elevator was. After the last one, it starts heading straight up. Not incredibly fast, but in 100% darkness, and it's just bouncing around.

It really was cool, but freaky at the same time. I just kind of wondered what sort of "safety" it might have had in case the "bungee cord" snapped. Probably none, and no one would probably find out if it snapped.

The tour was cool. There was an entire chapel carved out of salt. Truly breathtaking.
