I think the 2.7 rev-ed more freely since its a smaller motor.
It was also a US spec carrera motor.
I was told the US spec carrera motor had different cams than the standard US S motor which gave it more hp in the higher RPM range.
I never had a chance to verify this.
I am quite happy with my Euro 3.2.
If I was to put another motor in my car it would be a 993 engine so I don't have to adjust the valves.
At the time the 993 engines were going for $10k and my motor cost $5k.
231 HP versus 285 HP was not worth $5k diference.
