It's not clear that the parents were Christians. The article doesn't claim this. A lot of parents send their children to these schools because the education is somtimes much better than the local public school.
Religion is not racist, but is discrminartory by its very nature. Live by the rules of the Bible, Koran, whaterver, our your not part of the group. I've got no problem with that, if you don't like their rules then find another school, mosk, church..etc.
I do believe it's silly to punish the girl. She may be living her life accourding the schools values. It's the parents that are in viaolation of the schools values.
