Have you not seen the Smart cars? 70mpg for the diesel version, 67mpg for gas. I believe those both beat the best production Honda at 66.

But the point is "Hybrid" is over-rated, as it stand now. It's a bit too Rube Goldberg of a sol'n. Very costly; very system heavy (nothing to go wrong there ). . all to get to almost the same place of some single fuel cars.
