From what my UK friends have told me, TopGear is a national phenomenon in Britian. Its hugely popular among gearheads and girlfriends alike.

And how could it not be!@#%

Its more authentic and engadging than any "reality" show as far as Im concerned. You can tell the hosts really like eachother and their jobs, the production is absolutely fantastic (ie the use of old AphexTwin, M83, Air, and other cool Euro music in their bits), the shots are beautiful, and the hosts aren't afraid to badmouth, ridicule, or tear down anything they don't like.

Im with Fusco. I've downloaded the past 3 years worth of shows and they are simply fantastic. It joins a short list of shows that I actually enjoy watching: DailyShow, GoodEats, etc. Its too bad American tv is too busy catering to advertisers, cutting production costs, and dumbing down the content to reaches the lowest forms of intelligence in this country.

We could have some really decent shows if they would cut the schmaltz and respect the viewers a bit more. Stop trying to take my money and give me something decent to watch, you greedy bastards!
