You may be right about the war being lost. But it is shameful to me that we could loose such an important war based on the stomach of a soft citizenry.
What do you think will happen if you're right? Think all the terrorists in Iraq will just go home? Do you think we will all be safe if we just give up on Iraq? How many in Iraq do you suppose will be murdered for being sympathetic to the US?

Skidup, you have to step back a second and reread that quote by Myers...give it some thought...think about the timing, think about what he's saying....
He's essentially saying if the U.S. "loses it's resolve" (in other words, does nothing), we'll lose. NO KIDDING.
But we'll also lose if Al Qaeda keeps focused on their whole strategy all along.....economic destruction.
And we'll also lose if we don't finally step up this damn thing and actually send men like we should've in the first place (remember, Bush I sent 400,000 people, 400,000 people!). Can you name one long-term war that was won? Vietnam, 15 years. Soviet Union/Afghanistan 10 years...financial ruin.
So what Myers is saying makes (1) no sense and is (2) stupid.
Think about it!
Edit: Myers appears to be essentially saying wars will be won only if no one protests (resolve) and only will be lost if people protest (no resolve). How much sense does that make? What kind of general thinks like that???
