i know the 'proper' definition of ricer is someone who modifies their car to make it appear fast, not really go fast.

the second-wave ricers however, actually modify their cars to go fast, at the risk of damage. blindly turning up boost is by far the most popular mod among this crowd.

i guess 'backyard engineering' might be a better term for this mod.
