I just tried the clay bar for the first time last weekend. Used it on my truck after washing it (2003, F-350, Metalic Gray). When I rubbed my hand over the hood & top, it felt fairly rough and uneven, although it looked OK. The clay treatment amazed me. One swipe of the clay & the paint was pretty much glassy. The bar came as a kit (Meguires, I think) with a bottle of detailing spray. The bar itself was about half the size of a bar of soap, but it did a great job on the finish. I had no idea that all the roughness was junk on my paint. Over time, I'm going to use wax remover & claybar sections of it before waxing it (with 3M Perfect It).
