He comes across as a real person on the show, not a plastic Hollywood type. It's apparent that his wise-cracking never stops ("When someone shows up with a clipboard, smoking a cigar, it always means they are going to tell you how your project is going to cost more money and take more time").

His wife also seems very real, and not like some sort of celebrity hanger-on. Maybe his years of doing real work have tempered him.

I'm sure things will eventually go to his head and in 10-15 years we will be talking about how much funnier the old, still married Adam Corolla was...
