For the mechanically non-sensitive, no, it's not. Anyone with any ability to understand the mechanical interactions and properly maintain their vehicle will have zero issues with an MBC that is properly adjusted and installed. It requires more mechanical sensitivity and more attention, but it's perfectly safe when done properly.
