I solved the problem by making a discreat door pull out of a black nylon strap (one used on backpacks, outdoor gear, etc) and placing rivets in both ends. I then doubled it over to create a small loop which is attached to the door behind the front-most armrest by the allen bolt. The bolt still goes through armrest and then through the rivets into the door. Weighs next to nothing, is barely visible and works like a charm.
