Had a neighbor who did the same thing. Old bastard, etc...
Brother and I were always working on our two-stroke dirt bikes in the garage, mind you, on the weekends, during the day, etc..
He walked right into our garage one time while we were tuning a bike and yelled at us for violating local noise codes. Like he owned the house. My brother and I looked at each other and laughed at him. He said he'd call the cops. We then said, "fine, call the cops, get out of our garage, **** you."
Cops showed up and we told him exactly what happened. The cop laughed at the guy and told him to stop wasting the P.D.'s time.
From there on out, we made sure to rev our bikes REALLY high when riding by his house.
I've found that you wont appease older folks. You simply have to be respectful to a point.
