Some of those cranks have a 2.4/2.7 liter rod journal, making a 2.0/2.2 rod useless. It also makes finding factory racing rods pretty difficult. The convenient way to solve this issue is to have custom rods made. If you do have one with 2/2.2 rod journals consider yourself lucky. Forgive me I as I have read into your question . I would suspect that all factory efforts with the crank had ti rods installed.
