I don't know nearly as much about aircraft as many of you, but I have a favorite fighter jet and it's the F-16. Seems to me it's the 550 Spyder of the air. I know it's engine makes more thrust than the aircraft's weight, so its center of thrust is in front of its center of gravity. In other words, it could fly without its wings. I imagine that's what got the twin-engined thing back. If necessary, I suppose you can just "throttle steer" it.
