There was a place in Albany, Ca. The Royal Cafe, I think. On San Pablo. A great breakfast place. They served Peets at the table with a do-it-yourself french press. Beautiful. You're right about it being the absolute best. It's also the cheapest and quickest!

On the other hand, I'm constantly baffled at the number of restaurants that serve coffee that was clearly an afterthought. Inexcusable.

i also use a french press. IMO, nothing comes close. fresh grind with the cheapo grinder, into the press, pour the hot water, stir with chopstick, and let it steep. plunge, drink....

for espresso, nothing touches ILLY. dont even try. oh, i have a friend that manages a Peet's, so i get the deal. 50%
