I think you are saying that the outside sheet metal is separating from the exhaust manifolds. Mine doesn't even have the metal collars that are shown in your photo. My sheet metal comes up to the exhaust manifolds where they attach to the heads, and just ends - and there is no air tight seal. I assume that this allows a small amount of air that is around the engine, into the cabin heat. I have not worried about mine, because I don't have any exhaust leaks. It does rattle around a little, but not enough to bother me.
