Rock is dead...
Rock and roll was rebel music, it has become so commercialized, mainstream, and pasteurized it has lost it's heart and reason for being.
I mean, who wants to listen to a bunch of TV commercial soundtracks?
I watched a documentary on Punk and the same thing happened there. Punk was started as an anti-Establishment statement, then it became popular, then they got rich, then they became part of the establishment.
I believe Rap is following the same trend.
Fortunately I have a group of friends who are musicians and we can stilll get together and at least play rock n roll. Never ceases to amaze me how much people like to hear us play in a garage even though we are a bunch of old guys who suck.
By the way we still have at least three rock stations here in Los Angeles (neener-neener)... although two of them play girly rock.
Rock on Grath.
