You know Shaun, you (and tech for that matter) are one of the guys on this board that seem to stay the most current. You are living in anything but a cave. I guess you really were genuinely unaware of the extent of this; I thought you were yanking my chain. That in itself speaks towards one of my points - this crap has been out there for years and most folks are only peripherally aware of it. Like you, I readily admit that I only had vague recollections of what some of these "artists" were saying. I'm no rap fan so I was unable to come up with examples off the top of my head. But it is out there. So why are folks that pride themselves on being informed pretty much unnaware of this? That was the point I was trying to make. Two ditzy young blondes do it from the white end of the racist spectrum and it's big news. I just think there are deeper implications concerning what we expect from different races and ethnic groups. Have we given up one one, is that why we allow them to carry on like this? That worries me. Two dumb blonde racist bimbos really don't.
