Here in Houston there is a law firm that specializes in traffic cases that appear at the Main downtown court house. You pay the lawyer $60 and are almost certainly dismissed. It's amazing really. I've used him for myself or my family 2 or 3 times, and have had many friends use them many times, probably 15-20 and they've all gotten dismissed. The last time that I went the lawyer had a list of about 15 people in my court room (several rooms in this court), and all of the people except one were dismissed. The only reason that one wasn't dismissed was because the cop said he remembered them. They pissed the cop off by being a smart ass so he wouldn't let them off. Every cop had showed up that day. THe lawyer spoke to each cop and every ticket was dismissed without having to pay a penny to the courts. It's an amazing racket really. I can't see how it benefits anyone but the lawyer and the people who are getting their tickets dismissed.
