I have different expectations from young males of legal age whose music reflects a rough upbringing encompassing violence, real or imagined racism and poverty than I do of a couple of 13 year old girls whose views are ENTIRELY reflective of their parents' indoctrination(1).
I think the racist language in rap music is (a) a minority of the point of it, and (b) a byproduct, rather than the point of the music. Those two chicks don't seem to be able to say the same thing...
I want to be clear - I don't condone the "kill whitey" crap in rap, and it saddens me that people buy it (my guess is that listening to it makes them feel badass).
(1) I recognise that "indoctrination" is a strong word, but my view is that we (being humans) are not preprogrammed to believe that one race is superior to another.
