True. After the war, every half talented mechanic was trying to be part of the reconstruction and revitalization effort. There were lots of short lived efforts, and even lots of one-offs.
Bond made several cars, and was around for quite a while. I have an advert for Bond from 1953 somewhere in my collection of junk. I guess the
Bond Bug is best known.
