I think back to cars like the AC Cobra. I imagine that some of the purists of the day were outraged when Ford V8s were being installed in their "babies"!! Once again, the difference was the depth of the innovator's pockets.

I don't think that you want me to start all over again. But I have plenty of proof that the bashing started by dmsog and predator. Anyway I agree swapping a v8 into a 944 n/a it's entertaining, perhaps different but I wouldn't use the word "innovation". Yes the v8 is quite less expensive to maintain than a Porsche engine. But in my own oppinion innovation is for an example, when the 944/951 engine was introduced 20 years ago, every single car manufacturer had a challenge to make a better car, 944/951 was the car to beat.
You want to see innovation here it's a fine example:
