Although I haven't heard that rumor I could totally see that happening.
It seems like it is becoming common practice for yesterdays Mercedes parts to end up in today's Chrysler products.
When the new 171 SLK came out they basically facelifted the discontinued 170 SLK and called it a Crossfire.
The 300/Charger car has a whole slew of last generation E class parts in them. I believe it even includes MB's phased out 722.6 5speed transmission.
So now theres a new V6 Diesel engine going into the E320cdi that will replace the 5cyl that's in the current car. They're also putting that new V6 diesel into the ML for the U.S. - I want one!
So I would thinkit would be natural for that 5cyl to end up in a Chrysler.
