Steel will cause more wear than brass for obvious reasons, but any decent gun should shoot thousands upon thousands of rounds of just about any commercial ammo without wear problems. I dont hate the Wolf 9mm. Its real dirty and it stinks, but its kinda hot and usually cheap. Blazer is usually just as cheap and is much cleaner.

The ranges dont allow steel and AL case ammo because they dont want to sort through the reloadable brass. Steel and aluminum (CCI blazer) case ammo is non reloadable and is usually cheap. The ranges offset a large portion of their costs by selling reloadable brass back to commercial reloaders.
