It's a 1955 bug. It was the centerpiece of a bunch of VW parts I bought yesterday from a guy up in the hills. He and his brother have an informal junkyard with all kinds of insane early stuff. I got two single cabs full of stuff - some crap, some treasure, and some various VW lit, ironically, from a guy who was illiterate. No, really - he told us he never learned to read, so he couldn't tell me if the manuals were in English or German. The whole mess for $500, but I had to take it all.
