America has always been a unique nation, standing for Liberty and Justice for all. In the 20th Century it was America who stepped in during WW1 to save the western Democracys when they were on the verge of collaspe, It was America that beat back Nazi and Japanese aggression in WW2. It was America that stood off Communist expansion in a protracted Cold War Now we are faced with a NEW and Perilious enemy that knows no national boundaries but is guided by a fanatical, extremist religious ideology. To fight this war we must take unprecedented steps to preserve our Freedom.

Here in the 21 st Century with Weapons os Mass Destruction whose use is so horribe to contemplate, America must do everything in its power to stop there use by those who think nothing of killing themselves for their fanatical beliefs. Faced with this faceless enemy who uses his anonmity to hide among the people, we must gauge the loss of some Freedoms for the common good of maintaining American ideals. To this end the American Government has enacted the Patriot Act, set up a Prisoner of War Camp in Gitmo, holds proven DANGEROUS
enemies of America in unspecified sites and looks the other way when questionable means of extracting information from these Religious fanatics is used. It is for the ultimate preservation of American beliefs and ideals that these methods are used. even the invasion and toppling of the Sadam regime of despotism in Iraq has its place in the scheme of things.

Yet so many American question the the wisedom of using these tatics in combating this fanatical enemy. Don't they realize that it is for the peace and well being of the American people that our Government uses every means at its disposal to protect America and its interests. It is for the GOOD of the American Repblic that we have ventured upon these waters.

I'm still waiting for the punch-line.
