My wife drives a 98 A4 2.8 quattro avant and she loves the car. Had it since new and for the most part been reasonable in maintainance, the 2.8 motor is smooth as silk, imho.

I drive a 00 A4 1.8T quattro, its my everyday driver, its spunky and reasonable to drive but its not my porsche, a porsche is a porsche and nothing will compare.

I have never driven a TT but I would expect way better horses per weight ratio.

The issue with audis has always been realiability and maintainance costs, all I can say is pick them well and do your homework cuz in the end a car is a car. The dealers will rip you off, that's why they are in business, dumb people will pay. Find a good mechanic that has the computer hookups and the cost for maintainance goes way down.
