Okay, I'll offer a useful comment. 138K miles is not too much for a Carrera. These engines can last a long time. My '89 had exactly that much on the clock when I bought it, now 3+ years later (times flies) it has appx 160K and the engine has been troublefree, normal oil consumption, only problem was a bad single fuel injector last year. This board will walk you through servicing the car, and with that plus your auto experience plus a Bentley manual you should be able to keep the car running great for not a lot of money. Whether you can resist to temptation to spend money on upgrades, that's another story. Your wife likes the 911, that's another plus.
