It's like winning the lottery, then telling the winner that they can only look at the money and must pay all the taxes.
Normally, it seems that their mortgage is paid off and replaced with other higher bills (i.e., gas, gasoline, electric, water, insurance, taxes, etc.), which most cannot be written off on taxes of course.
Good intentions do not always provide good results.
