Yuppers. And I'm not even religious... Christamas to me is more about time off with family.

A few years ago I noticed we spent more time at the mall than we spend together. This is going to be our third year of "Make it, Bake it or I won't take it"(TM). Last year we spent no time or money shopping at all. We gave away maple syrup made from the maples at our house, and homemade pesto my wife makes. We spent the whole holidays at home making gifts, or with family & friends. It was the best Christams I ever had.

It was a hard sell at first, but most of our family really got into it. We're going hardcore this year, any storebought gifts we recieve will go to charity.

The exception to this is kids. I still like to buy toys for them.
