I like them. I think they are nice. Everything HK sells to the civilian market is pretty nice. I just wish they sold more stuff to the civilian market
I wouldn't worry so much about the light single action trigger. Any DA/SA gun, or a 1911 for that matter, has a short and light single action pull. I would worry more about the squeeze mechanism or about clearing a malfunction in a stressful situation if I wasn't used to shooting P7 than I would the light trigger. Practice, practice, practice....
What I don't like about the P7 guns is that I cant spend a lot of time at the range with them. The recoil can be a little stiff for a 9mm since its a blow back design (gas retarded), but its not severe at all. They get too hot to handle very quickly at th range due to the gas tube. I guess if I shot shorter sessions of 50-100 rds on a daily basis instead of a long weekend session when I had time I would get more use out of a P7. My wife loves the P7M8, but she can shoot one 50rd session per year and still be proficient with it. I have to practice a lot
