Or could it possibly be that the generalization is false? I personally am both 'conservative' and 'liberal' (depending on the issue), but imo the generalizations and labelling (from BOTH sides) on most issues tend to keep me on the sidelines in most of these debates. I don't find it constructive at all, and fail to see the point. Extreme political views (both left and right) with total disregard to those who might respectfully disagree, imo are a great disservice to MOST of us...help me understand.
