Hugh, I couldn't agree more about stupid people on juries. Hell, I even insisted on being removed from the list of registered voters. One reason being that I think Oregon's vote by mail system produces fraudulent elections. But also, because you must be a registered voter to serve on an Oregon criminal trial. Must be something civil that's big coming up in this county...I just got a Jury duty notice. Length of time? Dec. 5th until Feb. 3. Count me among the stupid. I cannot figure out how to get out of this....Hmmm, just had an idea! I wonder what the sentence is for refusing to answer a jury summons? Maybe less than the nearly 2 months I was just sentenced to? Oh, but if I was in jail, I wouldn't be "paid" the $10 per day and 12 cents per mile that is offered.
