I'm getting ready to take possession of a 911 in Topeka and drive it home to Colorado. The KS DMV says I should come in and buy a temporary tag once I get the title. But I'm buying on a weekend. I'm not sitting in a hotel in Topeka waiting for the DMV to open.

Are there temporary tags I can get in advance (like dealers do) or should I just go without tags? If I get pulled over, the worst that could happen is a ticket right?
