The sad part is, many apathetic, dissinterested Americans buy into their rhetoric. They don't have long enough memories. Interesting power base that the "intellectual elites" are building for themselves, counting on their followers to neither remember the past nor analyze the present. Probably not plan for the future, either. "Just do what we ask and everything will be okay. Trust us..."

They know they are lying. We know they are lying. They know that we know that they are lying. They could care less. The class of people they are targeting with their lies are the prize; a voting block that can return them to power. They want the power back; how they get there or what they do when they get there is secondary.
