The point about Lieberman is a piercing truth into the bias of omission. None of the largest papers in the country made the slightest mention of his remarks. While Mr. Murtha's comments made blazing, above-the-fold headlines across the LA Times (accompanied by a reliably misleading story), the in-country observations of the democratic vice presidential candidate were found to be news-unworthy. Likewise, the NY Times reported nothing. This is somehow both astonishing and unsurprising.

This does not mean his remarks escaped notice. Moveon.org released an internal memo calling for "action" against Mr. Lieberman. Not surprising either. Purging the party of one its last remaining men of reason would be entirely consistent with morally lost leftism.
