K, here's the situation..
Bad clutch to start it off, did the normal r and r. Going in I found that the bell housing was being nicked by the ring gear. So, replace the ring gear, bell housing with all good used parts... After everthing was installed, went to go start the car.. Starter jumped but not spinning, then would spin but not engage... So here's my questions(keep in mind that I'm a 911 guy helping someone out on this one)

Is the starter from 944/951 different?
Is there a difference in bell housings, and would it even had fit if it was not?
