Yes, corporations exist for the singular purpose of maximizing the wealth of its stockholders. It has no sense of social responsibility, only financial responsibility. And you're one of those who thinks that as they pursue the latter, the former will naturally flow.
The Greeks had Mount Olympus and the Middle Ages had the Geocentric Universe. Today we have the "self-regulating market." All myths. To the degree that any entity, like a corporation, improves the lives of citizens, great. To the degree that it doesn't, it's not welcome in my view. So far, they are not scoring well.
And Moses, immigration is a small issue to you but a big issue to Dubya. It might be an opportunity to do something that a few people will be comfortable with. Highly doubtful, as it's a divisive issue in his own party. But it's all he's got left. So far he's batting .000
