There was a thread a while ago on the 911 forum about problems with Fram filters. Something about not having the pressure relief valve that Mahles and the other high-quality filters have. There was at least one engine that was ruined because of a Fram filter, and some other claims that Fram filters caused, or contributed to engine failures.
