I have distilled before, but this setup looks super nice and conveinient. I first learned the basics years ago by reading The Foxfire Book. If any of you are serious about keeping alive old mountain traditions, you should read
these books.
Johnco... every moonshiner knows how to fake the bubble test. There is also a trick to "age" your 'shine in a matter of minutes. Sorry.... they're family secrets.
Anyone up for building a
reflux still?
Tips for would-be shiners... never build your still with aluminum pots, pipes, etc, and don't use any leaded solder for joints. Both will leach out poisons into the alcohol. And don't use an old oil cooler as a condensate worm.
