930 transaxle problem
Hi folks
I've been a long time reader of this board (1 1/2 yrs) and read the posts on it every day (from work of course). It's a great resource.
Problem: Due to overly aggresive shifting (i believe)i have completetly lost 2nd and 4th gears! At the beggining of this problem shifting into 2nd was getting increasingly difficult. Until eventually i just lost 2nd & 4th.There is no grinding or any nasty noises from the trans simply no 2nd & 4th. At this point the trans. is ok however 3rd does not like to go into gear above 3000 rpm's (this might be normal?)
I've been driving around (weekends)in 1st & 3rd which surprisingly is not that bad. There seems to be enough torque to keep the engine from bogging when shifting into third especially when taking 1st to 4000 rpms.
Could this be a shifter fork which came loose?
It seems it might be a case of the internal linkage losing its proper adjustment?
I am prepared to remove the engine/trans from the car but perhaps this could be remedied by making internal adjustments to the linkage from the access cover directly under the case?
Thanks
