I'm assuming your 930 has the same shift pattern as the plain old 915 trans... if so, it could very well be the bushings in the coupler since 2 and 4 both require the lever to move back and pull the shift rod forward.

However, I think you would notice significant play in the shifter and unusual noises at a the coupler if it was something this simple. Let us know what it turns out to be.
