On a more serious note... the strip is over-rated IMHO as a hotel destination
IF you never been there and think you are going to actually go for a walk on the strip to enjoy the lights. The mega casinos are about a mile apart and not foot traffic friendly for the most part, I get the feeling they don't want you to take your money elsewhere.
tabs, what is the free shuttle situation at these hotels? Last time I was in L.V. they had a bus that would take you anywhere on the strip for a buck. Also most of the off strip hotels had shuttles that could take you to the strip.
When I go I stay downtown because I like to wander from casino to casino. I know you high rollers don't want to stay down there though.
