According to Conservatives, there's no such thing as a right to privacy.
So, the Patriot Act, which allows the government to "disappear" citizens, hold them incommunicado, render them to foreign countries for torture, deny them anything that even resembles probable cause, a warrant or legal representation, much less a trial, is a Good Thing; but keeping kids away from chain-smoking foster parents is the Holocaust Reprise?
