I have been simply watching from the sidelines, but have put a bit of thought into this. What it comes down to, for me, is that-
Jack Olsen has earned my respect.
Several people here have way more knowledge than I about all things Porsche, and share it freely. It's not about post count, but what those posts have contained.
Would I have dared stuff a 3.2 into a 1973 body without the help recieved here? Don't know for sure, but this place has helped greatly. To have access to input from guys like Jack, Warren, John Walker et al, is valuable to me, and these guys, and many others, have simply earned respect because of their contributions. Hopefully some of my posts have helped others in the same way.
When a "newbie" comes along and starts poo-pooing the people that have earned respect, What results should we expect?
-That the lemmings all disregard all that has gone on before, and agree that Jack is now the king of poo?
-That a guy who does not have a history of contributing technical information is automatically entitled to the same level of respect as those mentioned above?
-Or maybe, just maybe, he does not feel respected for some unknown reason?
Let's see.... I'll have to put some more thought into this and get back to you.
